You’re allowed to ask for help

Wildflowers on a grassy hillside overlook a white lighthouse, a sandy beach, and a dog running at the water. AI-generated artwork.

The lighthouse is already on. It doesn’t wait for the boat to be impressive. It’s built for the dark. Help is like that. Official. Ordinary. Meant for nights like yours.

Pride will tell you to handle it. Shame will tell you other people have it worse. Both can leave you alone with too much. You’re allowed to pick up the phone anyway.

Ask a friend. Ask a line. Ask a doctor. Ask the page to walk you to Help. Asking is a kind of courage that doesn’t look like courage from the inside.

If you’re in danger, don’t finish this paragraph. Go. Call. Text. Stay on the line. We want you here tomorrow.
